What is palletizing and when is it required?
Palletizing groups cartons onto a pallet for safer handling and freight transportation. It is commonly used for LTL or FTL shipments, wholesale and retail orders, large FBA/WFS shipments, and inventory that must be consolidated for a dock delivery.
The service can include stacking approved cartons, securing or wrapping the load, applying pallet or freight labels, and recording the pallet count and shipment documents. Requirements vary by carrier, marketplace, retailer, dimensions, weight, stackability, and routing guide.
For standard FBA/WFS outbound LTL shipments, palletizing is $30 per pallet. Small-parcel delivery does not have an outbound palletizing charge. Inbound pallet handling, unusual materials, custom pallet builds, retail-compliance work, and other freight services may be priced separately.
Do not assume that selecting a portal service books freight. PrepFort must confirm the pallet configuration, transportation responsibility, pickup or appointment, and quote. Your signed agreement controls account-specific pricing.
