How do kitting, co-packing, and custom packaging projects work?

PrepFort can combine kitting, assembly, co-packing, labeling, custom packaging, storage, and fulfillment in one approved project. Examples include multipacks, variety packs, subscription boxes, gift sets, corporate gifts, promotional bundles, retail displays, and branded inserts.

Project setup

Provide the finished-item specification, bill of materials, component SKUs and quantities, packaging and label files, assembly steps, quality standard, expected volume, launch date, and final destination. Include a physical sample or approved reference when appearance or placement matters.

Pricing

Projects are custom quoted based on labor, components, packaging materials, quality checks, volume, storage, and shipping. Standard FBA or DTC rates do not automatically include custom assembly work. The written quote and agreement control the scope and price.

Typical workflow

1. PrepFort reviews the specification and confirms product eligibility.
2. Components and packaging are received, counted, and inspected.
3. A sample or written build standard is approved when required.
4. The team assembles, packages, and labels each finished unit to the approved specification.
5. Finished kits are counted and quality checked.
6. The finished inventory moves to storage or is shipped to DTC customers, Amazon, Walmart, wholesale accounts, retailers, or event recipients as agreed.
