# How are fragile, oversized, or heavy products handled?

PrepFort can evaluate fragile, oversized, or heavy products, but acceptance and pricing depend on the exact item and workflow. Provide dimensions, weight, photos, packaging, monthly volume, sales channel, and destination before sending inventory.

Fragile items

Available protection can include bubble wrap, protective material, a new carton, or boxing labor. Standard FBA/WFS bubble wrap is $0.50 per square foot. Boxing labor and packaging materials are charged separately when required. DTC packaging and supplies are billed separately unless the signed quote states otherwise.

Oversized or heavy items

Items exceeding 15 inches or 5 pounds may require additional handling and pricing. DTC fulfillment is generally best suited to products under 10 pounds; heavier items are reviewed case by case based on product, volume, storage, packaging, and carrier options.

Before shipping

PrepFort must confirm product eligibility, storage method, safe handling, packaging, and any extra rate in writing. Cold-chain, regulated, unusually shaped, very heavy, or high-return products require additional review. Do not ship a non-standard product based only on a general website description.
